When Will the Mobile Robot Vendor Base Consolidate?

#artificialintelligence

Despite numerous acquisitions the mobile robot market is in fact not consolidating. More vendors emerge each year and more industrial companies are launching AMRs. Despite numerous acquisitions the mobile robot market is in fact not consolidating. More vendors emerge each year and more industrial companies are launching AMRs. The combined market share of the top 10 and top 20 leading vendors barely changed between 2018 and 2020 and indeed dropped in 2021.

The future is now: Unlocking the promise of AI in industrials

Michael Chui, Nicolaus Henke, and Mehdi Miremadi, "Most of AI's business uses will be in two areas," McKinsey, March 7, 2019. As companies are recovering from the pandemic, research shows that talent, resilience, tech enablement across all areas, and organic growth are their top priorities. 2 2. What matters most? This article is a collaborative effort by Kimberly Borden, Mark Huntington, Mithun Kamat, Alex Singla, Joris Wijpkema, and Bill Wiseman, representing views from McKinsey's Advanced Industries Practices. Despite this opportunity, many executives remain unsure where to apply AI solutions to capture real bottom-line impact. The result has been slow rates of adoption, with many companies taking a wait-and-see approach rather than diving in.

8 Commonly-Used Digital Transformation Technologies

#artificialintelligence

When digital transformation is discussed, technology is usually not far behind. Whether it's Internet of Things (IoT), cloud, or artificial intelligence (just to name a few), tech is changing how organizations around the world are doing business. While there's no question that technology goes hand-in-hand with digital transformation, there are other essential considerations that must come first in a digital transformation strategy. These include identifying value-driven business outcomes and developing a culture of change and collaboration. In our State of Industrial Digital Transformation report, our research analysts describe DX technologies as "levers or tools to support business value-oriented initiatives."

G2 Venture Partners Promotes Jake Tauscher to Partner

#artificialintelligence

G2 Venture Partners, a venture capital firm focused on emerging technologies driving sustainable transformation across traditional industries, announced the promotion of Jake Tauscher to Partner. "I'm privileged to work with some of the industry's best investors at G2 and to support companies working to solve the world's most difficult problems" Jake first worked with the G2 team in 2019 as an intern, then joined full-time as an Investor in 2020. He is a board observer at G2 portfolio companies Light Guide Systems, AiDash, and Nikola Labs and helps lead the firm's work on topics including artificial intelligence and machine learning, carbon markets, electrification, and industrial decarbonization. Jake is an avid blogger on these topics, and you can read his pieces and others at blog.g2vp.com. Prior to joining G2, Jake invested in large industrial companies at Advent International, working in diverse sectors including water, distribution, manufacturing, and software.

Significance Of Artificial intelligence And Automation In Workplace

#artificialintelligence

The fundamental nature of labor is changing due to automation, AI, and other developments. They're altering how businesses and customers interact and carry out internal operations, as well as how they conduct business. Knowing these advancements is beneficial to business executives, inventors, and professionals. Artificial intelligence and automation are transforming businesses and will assist enhanced productivity and contributing to the future economy. They also assist in resolving social issues ranging from health to climate change. At the same time, these technologies are transforming the nature of employment and the workplace.

Adopting a smart data mindset in a world of big data

#artificialintelligence

Industrial companies are embracing artificial intelligence (AI) as part of the fourth digital revolution. 1 1. The first two revolutions introduced programmable logic controllers and distributed control systems, which enabled plant-wide data collection and automation. The third revolution--advanced process controls--further abstracted automation into high-level models, allowing for increasingly dynamic plant operation. For more on the latest innovations in process controls, see Stephan Görner, Andy Luse, Naman Maheshwari, Ravi Malladi, Lapo Mori, and Robert Samek, "The potential of advanced process controls in energy and materials," November 23, 2020. AI leverages big data; it promises new insights that derive from applying machine learning to datasets with more variables, longer timescales, and higher granularity than ever.

The Convergence of Artificial Intelligence and Industrial IoT

#artificialintelligence

AIoT, the confluence of AI and Industrial IoT technological forces, gives rise to a new digital solution category – the Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT). AIoT is built for industrial companies looking for better ways to connect their evolving workforce to data-driven decision tools and digitally augment work and business processes and making better use of industrial data already collected. ARC Advisory Group has observed that the convergence and overlap of IT and OT groups, driven largely by the digital transformation of industry in recent years has created organizational confusion and a significant "gray-space" of common technologies between each area, one area being AI. However, leveraging AI requires data science capability, which adds additional complexity to an already complex environment. While engineering roles are skilled in analyzing large amounts of data, setting up and creating production grade machine learning environments is not easily accomplished.

How Artificial Intelligence Is Playing A Vital Role For Industrial Companies?

#artificialintelligence

With the growth of industrial AI and the IoT, Organisations in most of the sectors are being reimagined through software. Businesses are learning how to utilize their information to not just examine the past but forecast the future too. Maintenance is a vital area which may drive significant cost savings and manufacturing value across the globe. Even the expense of machine downtime is substantial: As stated by the International Society of Automation, $647 billion has been lost worldwide annually. During this time organisations have unacted maintenance procedures to facilitate downtime and increase effectiveness.

Digitization has been as revolutionary for industry as the introduction of electricity. Now artificial intelligence (AI) and big data are generating new opportunities – and a number of challenges. In the "Artificial Intelligence in Europe" report published by consultancy firm EY, some 57 percent of the companies surveyed expect AI to have a significant or very significant impact on business areas that are "entirely unknown to the company today," and 65 percent expect AI to have a significant or very significant impact on their core business. "The opportunities generated by digitization in general are game changers in most sectors, which is one reason why digital solutions have gained a strong foothold in different parts of society," says researcher Daniel Langkilde, who develops AI solutions for Scania, Volvo and other major companies. Digitization lays the foundation for entirely new business models, sometimes simultaneously throwing out the old models.
